This was it.  
His big claim to fame.   
Everybody knows who the creature,
THE THING was ... why it was
James Arnes, of course.  You knew that.   
The guy who played in Gunsmoke.   
"Marshall Dillon. Marshall Dillon."
Oh forget it, your probably to young to
remember him anyway.   Maybe this will help,
the pilot from the flick "Airplane"
Peter Graves was his brother.   
"The Thing" flick was one of those
black and white gems from the 50's, so I
painted him just the way I thought he would
look in green.

In the first composition of this page,
I found the original poster from the flick and
just added my digital shots of the model.
The second time around, which is below, I
added a picture of a lunging dog, at our
alien, composing each file in Photoshop.
