| No Where's Land. This wasn't no where's land I knew exactly where I was going. Exactly! I headed straight into the gaping mouth of this Devil monster. And all I could do, as with everything else, in this sordid dream of discontent and utter horror, was to flow with its flow. |

| Red clouds engulfed me from every side. I expected to find demon's mouth, gums and flesh. But all I found within ware the same fiery clouds throughout. So I push and I blew and I twisted myself, to rid me of these red puffs surrounding me. And I thrashed and I screamed from the lungs I didn't have. I saw that my hands were flailing at these red powdery fluffs. I saw that my hands were moving like the winds of a sail amidst the voyage of a lonely storms aggression. I felt so powerless to make my invisible feet move, on this invisible pavement beneath these stormy clouds. Then without warning and in total frustration I was sucked in, like a deep intake breath of a giants mouth. I found that my landing ended up on foreign soil, again. The things that surrounded me made less sense than all that had come before. Where was this dream scape taking me and for what purpose could it be? These ins. These outs. Nothing I've passed through made any sense to my mind or to my soul. Having to face that illusion, that I was going to be next on the dinner plate of that demon. Oh Devil, oh demon how you play with my mind. Your toying with the fantasies that I are part of me. And dreamed up by me. I took a step forward in this wonderland of mystery, just to know I wasn't standing still in my madness. The road was not yellow brick or laden with gold or silver, but was brick like the red brick I had walked upon next to that wall of immeasurable length. And all around, the red clouds had turned a purplish color. Rich, vibrant and fluffy as the clouds that flowed around me before. And then it happened! Out popped a creature of fantastical design. Like the Mad Hatter with a teacup. A door opened, from what appeared to be thin air. A perfectly rectangular door, in design. This door seemed to be hinged on a frame, a frame that was attached to another's frame of a different design. This creature that had popped out, was the Hatter indeed, but not the Hatter of Alice's Wonderland. This was the Hatter of morbid tales of horror. This was the monster of Black and White Cinema. This was the creature of evil from to many a horror flick gone by. The clouds faded away from the doors face and its shape became clearer as it did, as did the other doors appearing first left, then right, then 90 degrees, then again and again and again, until I was surrounded by doors on all sides! The purplish clouds move up to where all clouds should have been, a skies height. I was not surrounded like I was before, this time it was by doors. instead of those horrid red ominous cloud shapes. The feeling of claustrophobia was almost intolerable. Here I stood with my eyes agape, as this Hatter gave a horrid smile, with teeth so sharp, a demon would flee from the sight. And with a slam, his door closed and now the Hatter only peered through his doors window. What struck me most, was the flattened look that his hands had, as the door shut and his hands still were outside of this door. I was certain there should have been a swishing sound, as it closed. But there was none? Then, still while the door was shut, his hands slipped out through the cracks and out of sight to his body, I guess, behind that door? I had the feeling that this strange land of monsters and demons were beginning to be unnerving to everyone of my senses. And then a sign appeared upon the bricks of this floor. A sign which simply said three one words! "CHOOSE" "ONE" "DOOR" Choose one door? But why? And dear God how? This game of puzzles and tunnels was wearing me down to my wits end. This title wave of feelings, being so alone in all of this. All the things that have confronted me, With each passage that passes I wear a little thinner in my head. It's wearing on my mind. Choose! Choose! Choose! And there I stood flushed with the strain, of mind and soul. Bet you thought you'd catch me saying "and body!" but I didn't. I remembered, at this point there was no body to speak of! I glanced to my left and to my right and realized that making a choice in this maze of doors with no walls to connect them and no reason to believe that good could live beyond a door of random. And I thought, "What do I have to lose?" "Stay here and who knows what other terrors live beyond these hinges." But if I stood here, surely this would be my end. No Where's Ville. That's where I would be. So... Into the rabbits hole of future questions and discoveries I go. I made my choice. I picked a door and when I moved the door sprung open. What appeared, filled me with horror that froze me in my place. One single eye glaring out at me. It had long flailing tentacles which swooshed around in the air. Then another door sprung open and another and of course, another. Behind each door laid creatures, one more horrifying than the next, each calmly going about its business as usual, which was to capture a poor fellow for dinner, right. Their seemed no reason for these creatures to be here and more so to, be calm. There seemed no more answers here and now than there were when I first asked them. I stepped closer, then closer, then closer still, till my face was face to face with this chosen monster, in the opening of that door. All of a sudden, the bricks below my steps began to move in unison with my walk and those letters moved with us toward the beast with one eye. CHOOSE! CHOOSE! CHOOSE! "I made my choice!" "I made my choice!" "And I'll go too!" "Stop reminding me!" And the eye glaring back at me stepped aside and aloud me to pass into a shadowy space where I heard sounds of laughter? Walking? Groaning? Grunting? And even talking? No way was I going to miss this show! And off I went! |
