|"Would you stop pushin'
"What's the rush!"
"Bluming know this place!"
"Bluman need to get out of
this place, but fast!"
"First you tell me to come and
see what I shall see!"
"Then you tell me I must go to
this Maze place!"
"Now you tell me, we must
hurry along because you have
to get out of this place, but
"Which is it Blue?"
"Which is it???"
|As we passed through the opening I saw that our, well his feet, were stepping onto a
brick road and the sky above turned to shades of pinkish, bluish purples and the reds
of that hellish sky we'd just experienced was fading from our sight!
The heart in my chest was beating like Poe's, "Tell Tale Heart!"
Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump!
Come to think of it I don't think its stopped beating like that since these damn dreams
And Bluman forged on! Stressing to me, the urgency of the situation!
"Come! Come! Come! Bluman take you through!"
By then, I could see what appeared to be tall, tall stalks of corn?
Yes tall stalks of corn, now on either side of these bricks, laid so evenly on the ground.
And up ahead was a green wall of similar stalks which darkened on either side.
"Bluman?" "Is this the Maze you just told me of?"
"What frightens you so, that we must quicken our pace before us?"
"What lies ahead in the shadows of this Maze?"
Bluman flit his head first left then right, than back again and again!
"What are you looking at my friend?"
"What is making your bluest fir turn pale against the greenest greens, of stalks so
"Bluman whispers what ails me so." and in the softest whisper I've ever heard, came his
shaky, shaky words, "Bluman 'fraid of clowns!" "Bluman very 'fraid of clowns!"
"Bluman I know this!" "You said it about a thousand times already!" "I get the point!"
"Bluman!" "Bluman!" "What am I going to do with my dear Bluman!"
And this time, it was me that dashed my head left then right!
It was me who thought I was seeing things! It was me whose heart almost burst of my
chest at the sight of the pinks and bright colors that peaked through the denseness of
the these stalks!
Were my eyes playing a trick on me? I'm sure this must be the things that my best
buddy Blue was in fear of! And just as quickly as the first clown shown his face and
appeared in the blackest shadows, between some stalks, another clown materialized
and peered out of his hiding.
And just then the hysterics from my friend began most grievously.
"Bluman scared!" "Bluman scared!" "Bluman very scared!"
"Yeah Blue! I figured that one. Without having to have it squealed in my ear!"
I thought my buddy Blue was going to jump right out of his fur!
But then it got worse! If you can believe that!
The clowns still popping in and out of the blackest shadows sped up their pace. And
even began to pop faces from behind dark corners and tops of these stalks. It was a
dizzying affair to say the least! Now Bluman's eyes widened at these sights and he
grabbed my hand and off we flew, at what must have been his form of warp speed.
It was like running with Whiley Coyote!
"OK!" "OK!" "Would you please slow down, for gosh sake!"
"Your gonna rip my arm right out of its socket!"
But poor Blue's feet wouldn't stop a step for me.
He was to darn scared to give a hoot, to what I was saying!
So we ran and we ran not making any choices at all as we were faced with each
We just went! Finally, I could run no longer and I yanked on my friends arm
and begged for him to rest with me!
"Blue my friend we've just gotta stop!"
"Blue I know your scared and I don't have a clue which way to go but you really haven't
been looking at which way your going!" "Dare I ask if you know where your going?"
Blue just look at me with a huff and a puff in his voice and said,
"Bllllluuummmmmaaaannnn vvveeerrryyy ssscccaaarrreeddd!!!"
"OK my friend that's clearer than clear!"
"Now can you tell me if you know which way we just flew!"
"Oh yes!" "Oh yes!" "Bluman know which way he goes!"
"Very good my friend, now take us to the way out of this Maze!"
And with that, a Mickey Mouse hand, me knowing full well,
it belonged to one of these clowned faced creatures, hiding in these corn limbs.
Reached out between Bluman's legs and began to grab onto his blue fur.
Then I heard my friend yelp louder than some rapped screamin' banshee!"
It continued to grasp my friends leg as he leaped into the air!
The fingers forming a claw of clown terror glee!
Bluman squiggled and squirmed and yelped all around!
I reached down and tried without luck to pry these jumbo fingers from his fur!
But as I pried, these vicious clown teeth, with a chatter and a chomp came for my
Man what a predicament this all was! High flying tension from every turn and every
And then I remembered what my good friend had told me! That nothing here could
That this was all created only to scare the wits out of us!
And damned if it wasn't doing a good job!
This time, with memories of these thoughts,
I tore even harder at the fingers that gripped him! And the teeth fell to the bricks and
went chattering away! And the bulbous fingers popped off, with a one, and a two,
and a three, and a four! It had no more!
Bluman was more than relieved, his was out of his mind with,
"Let's get the heck out of here right now!" "Right NOW!WWWWWWW!!!!"
This time, I asked no more questions but let Bluman take me by the hand an fly with all
of his might to some destination ahead. He had gotten us this far and I hope that this
brick lined road had an end somewhere near. To me, it seemed like this was a never
ending story. Each place was more bizarre than the last. This one, more than the
last reminded me of the bushes of some king's castle, tucked away in a valley. And
again made me think of the corn fields, cut away to form shapes, that only could be
seen from the sky! Made by Alien's in play or in design for other ships to read from. I
thought we were running forever when Bluman came to an abrupt stop! And when he
did, I almost rammed right into him!
"Bluman think we have made it to end!" "Bluman is happy with himself!"
"Bluman is very, very, very good Bluman!"
"If you say so old blue!" "But it all looks the same to me!"
"More corn!" "And more corn!" "That's all I see is corn!"
"Now where do we go?"
"Me, Bluman, tells you, what you want to know."
"But Bluman knows you no like this next place! No better than you like this place!"
"Alright Blue, now stop giving me this double talk and let's get on with this crazy show
"Bluman take you to place where everything is fake." "Where everything floats in a
sea of clouds and uglies!" "Where the monsters are never nice and the demons are
"Trust me, Bluman no take you their because he wants to." "Only because he has to,
to get you to the other side, of the melting clouds to meet
the King of the Beasts, that never sleeps or dreams!" "This is the Beast who makes all
the horrible dreams that you've been through!" "That's all he does!" "He makes
dreams for all to fear!" "For all to remember the day they wake!" "He is the one that
creates the places you've never been, but are so familiar with, in your dreams!"
And Bluman took my hand again and led me round a corner that had a red glow
shinning to a sky filled with a new set of clouds, some purple some blue, again just like
that place before had! And Bluman said, this time in a voice and using language like
I'd never heard him use!
"Come and walk into the clouds"
"Come my friend and make me proud!"
"Don't believe a thing you see!"
"On our way to Beasties tree!"
"Things may merge and things may howl!"
"Things so ugly in their prowl!"
"Made to fear and made to fright!"
"Made to bump all through the night!"
"Wish you had your pillow tight!"
"Wishes made with all your might!"
