The Hell Hole
"Come and walk into the clouds"
"Come my friend and make me proud!"
"Don't believe a thing you see!"
"On our way to Beasties tree!"
"Things may merge and things may howl!"
"Things so ugly in their prowl!"
"Made to fear and made to fright!"
"Made to bump all through the night!"
"Wish you had your pillow tight!"
"Wishes made with all your might!"
The imagination.
It takes us places in never, never land.
It creates for us when we are weary
and seek sleep to recharge our mental
batteries.   But sleep, isn't always the
place that peace does come.    And sleep
doesn't always do what its supposed to do.
Instead, drags us into caverns, into black
holes, that we would
never go or even think of in our conscious,
rational minds.
This is exactly were our two friends go
now.
Come join them if you dare!
"Bluman.    I don't like the looks or even the feel of this place."
Bluman just looked blankly back at me and continued on his way.
Our feet seemed to melt into the clouds that drew us deeper into this cavern of clouds.
I felt I must turn.    When I did, it was only to find that our past steps had been
swallowed up by more of the same clouds that were swirling 'round our shapes.    Me
just being my hands.
Fear was dancing all through my senses and
Bluman gave me little and no support
what so ever.
"Bluman good buddy, what goes on here!!!"
And Bluman turned and faced me and in that same eerie voice, not his, spoke up.
"Come and walk into the clouds"
"Come my friend and make me proud!"
"I'll come my friend!"   "I'll make you proud!"
"I'll make
me proud!"     "By rushing us out of this God forsaken place!"
"Not for a second do you think that I'm gonna stroll my way through fiery purple looking
clouds."    "There's not an ounce of comfort headed this way, you've taken us!"    "Not
like the prospect of going back through that maze delights me any better!"
"But it just feels wrong setting our way in this direction!"
And as if Bluman had fell into a trance, this time facing forward, still his hand in mine,
he yanked me to move.    A sound came from all around his head and not from his
mouth!
"Come and walk into the clouds"
"Come my friend and make me proud!"
"Don't believe a thing you see!"
"On our way to Beasties tree!"
"Listen Buddy!"    "We're already in the clouds!"    "And Bluman!"    "What's with the
voice!"
"Your really starting to freak me out!"
"Sounds like you talking in some kind of echo chamber or somethin'!"
"Look guy would you turn around when I'm talkin' to ya!"
And with that, our silly looking Bluman turned and at the moment that his face came
into view I knew I should have never forced him to turn my way.   All his expressions of
the frazzled creature, the cuddlely buddy I was growing to enjoy having around, had
rolled out of him some way and all I was left with was a lifeless face of
white, with red
glowing eyes.     His lips had turned deepest purple and tongue hanging green from
the "
O" shaped opening of his mouth.
"Oh my God!   "My Bluman!!"    "What has happened to my Bluman!!!"    "Good
Buddy!!!"
"Don't you remember what you just said!"
"You just said!"    "Not to believe the things I see!"
"Well, I don't believe this!"   "No way am I gonna accept that this is the buddy that was
leading me in my plight and worry!"    "No way am I gonna believe that this is
happening to us!"   "Dream or no dream!"   "And what's this about some tree and some
beast?!?"
"You just straighten up and talk to me plainly from your flappin' mouth right here and
now!"
And with that, our Bluman turned as if in a trance and began yanking at my hand again.
A rumbling came from the direction
Bluman was going.
This time, there was no debating it with my friend, because I new exactly what face
looked out at me now.    And it wasn't the face I had grown to be pleased and fond of!
And one more time the same words were burned into my ears
like a knife cutting into my skull!
"Come and walk into the clouds"
"Come my friend and make me proud!"
"Don't believe a thing you see!"
"On our way to Beasties tree!"
"Things may merge and things may howl!"
"Things so ugly in their prowl!"
Then at once ten monstrous red fingers came surging through the clouds above us.
And
Bluman stood motionless as they reach around his head and closed in a heartless
demon grip of delight!   I could now hear evil laughter bellowing from somewhere far
ahead, as that hand dug deep into the neck of my friend's
blue body.   And they dug!
And dug!
And dug!
Until you knew that the right red fingers and the left red fingers were touching tip to tip!
And with one quick jerk, my friends blue skull came riping from his chest, with a sound
of ghastly proportions!    Bone and
blue black blood came pouring from the rip!    What
was happening right before me!    And still, his
blue hand clenched to mine for seconds
longer.The
blue body before me began to twirl and shake and flap and hop from side
to side!
And it keep doing its dance as the last of
Bluman's head disappeared into that mass of
clouds above us.   Dripping
Bluman blood until completely out of sight.   And all the
while this was happening I could still here the sound of that evil laugh coming from the
direction
Bluman was heading, just before that laughter began!    And while Bluman's
body was doing its gig before me, I once again heard those words.    But this time not
from
Blumans direction, this time they were coming from the same direction that
horrible laugh was coming from!
"Don't believe a thing you see!"
"On our way to Beasties tree!"
"Things may merge and things may howl!"
"Things so ugly in their prowl!"
"Made to fear and made to fright!"
"Made to bump all through the night!"
And a crash mixed in with the laugh!     And a thump mixed in the laugh!
And no more!    It was silent!!!
Which scarred  the shit out of me . . . more than any other sound could ever do!
So I grabbed onto that flappy body by its hand and quickly headed in the direction
where I knew the sound had come from!   And with no surprise at all,
Bluman's body,
with all its dangling inside side stuff hanging from the gapping opening where his head
used to be, came along without an ounce of a fuss or a muss.   Guess because he had
no head he didn't have much room for thought!   Moving ahead, maybe ten, maybe
twenty feet, we burst out of those clouds and faced a most horrible sight before us.
There was a clownish, freakish creature in every way, standing there with a grin upon
his face no other could equal.    He held the head of my dearest
blue buddy cuddled
maternally in his circus
blue jacket.    His socks were striped and his pants striped.
And his face was
red and his face was white.    And blue white clouds began to swirl
around this monstrously grotesque clown beast.   Its head was round and demonically
flawless.   Once again, it bellowed evil laughter from its mouth, which contorted into
every evil shape imaginable!    Beside this morbid creature stood a tree misshapen by
time and by evil.    With his other hand he reached down and pulled it from its roots.
Immediately, the tree began to change to suit this demon's likes.    It changed into a
staff, just for his own delight.    While that was happening the rest of its body was
contorting along with the laugh, at the ever high speed of insanity!   Horns grew out
from two spots of the clowns head, its jaw tore into a
red demons jaw, all was beyond
mad, all was intolerable.
I new at that moment if this really was a dream I could and would deal with it no more. I
screamed in my mind and screamed more, then MORE,
THEN MORE!     "I just have to
wake up!"    " I just have to!!!"
But I didn't!    Instead, with a rip of its hand, the head of
my friend was pulled from its embrace, by its
blue hair!    It swung the head beside it
and gleed at the sight of we two spectators standing in horror!   And then, as if we
were in some surround sound theater, with immense speakers and perfect acoustics,
came these final few words.
"Wish you had your pillow tight!"
"Wishes made with all your might!"
And I put my hands up to what should have been my face and I pressed as hard as I
could and I weeped to myself!    As I wished so hard!    With a wish I have never felt in
my heart!
"Oh dear God why do you torture your servant so???"    "Oh why my God???"    "Oh
why???"
And as I wept all went quiet and a peace flooded my insides.    And a hand
tugged at mine and I let my hands come free and I saw my blue friend before me.     All
together again?!?   And at peace with himself.    The clouds had change from violent
shades of reds of purples to tranquil shades of
blues and pinks.   And the clown demon
was no where to be heard or seen.   And my
blue furry friend in almost an angelic voice
said.
"You have done well in your God eyes!"
"He has heard you and bids you a better road then you have seen!"
"Go and see what you shall see!"
And Bluman took my hand and my heart slowed its beat as we walked toward
somewhere else.
