The Cavern
It's so hard for me to accept that
these places have so little
meaning to each other.   It's like
falling from one world into
another.   If I ever had to trace
my way back,
to say the Theater or that Maze,
I wouldn't have a clue where to
begin.   To me, that is the real
fear that is bringing me down.
And now we're headed to some
cavern.   Makes so little sense
to me, I've given up asking
where we're headed next.
I'm just rolling on blind faith.
"Let's get on with it Bluman."
Green.
Everything around us was tinted and in shades of green.    I staid tightly
to my friend, who was the only contrast I had against this green, green
place, I walked firmly, but with a bit of a jitter.   And said,
"Bluman my
friend.    Can you tell me are these caverns we're headed for, a place I
should fear?".
My friend lookedtin my direction, with an inquisitive face
and drew near,
"Do I sense a bit of worry in your words?".     "Blue by
now you know that worry is a normal state of affairs in this place."
   "I
will not lie to you.   Every step, every toss of time in this place is filled
with the possibility of things that can go wrong, with our running across a
person, creature or situation that is of bad intent." "It's all up to you and
that vivid imagination of yours."    "Remember at one point where I was
only a germ in you reality, then you drew me from  the dark recesses of
your mind, your id, your subconscious."   "There lies the key to whether
you will meet up with any dark obstacles, creatures or places of bad
intent."    "Remember too, I am but part of your dream and only a
creation from your own creative thoughts."    "If you keep stirring those
worried thoughts that torment you, before every step taken or place
gone to.   For sure, where we are headed, will be nothing but other heart
breaks and fearful journey's.     How ever  many sections of these new
dreams we might flow, till you've reached exactly what you've been
searching for, all along."
"And you said that all in one breath."   "Sorry
my friend but sometimes that's the way you think."   "At times I wish it
weren't so."   "But again, you created me and it is with your design I
must live."   "So I say.   Let us forego these sad thoughts and put our
steps on a brighter foot."
"Let the caverns be our next stop.    Our foot hold to another place."

And with that, the dark green bricks below our friends feet, began to
lighten and even turn a shade closer to what I call brick in color and
pleasing to the
mind.   The bricks shifted from that greenish tinge to a
brick color, I normally knew.   The sky began to intensify with contrasting
blues and the clouds that almost made imaginary shapes that clouds do
sometimes make.    And even the solid
green foliage gave way to
flowery colors.    Colors I first saw at a glance, then in full view.    With
flowers of
pinks and yellows, taking shape within those greens.
"Bluman this so exciting and even down right pleasant.   The colors are
so
rich and vibrant.
The air so filled with cleaner, fresher fragrances than that tight forest
smell,
of overpopulated
greeneries where we just came from."
"Can we stay right here, where the light is sharp and the nights, I'm
feeling, must be filled with skies that are littered with stars of bright."
"Sadly I say, this is only a passageway to the places we still must go."
"So enjoy it here and now, for soon we will be at the passageway,
to the cavern of the deep."
With those words I walked with a lighter step and almost a skip, like a
child whose coming home with a new toy, from
Bargain Town, USA.
Then the bricks began to fade into a brown dirts color and then
disappeared completely.   The sky lost its glimmer and  became one
solid
blue, a blue so plain within my thoughts.   The foliage and its
flowers gave way to thickets with leafless branches and closer to a
prairie feel in mind.   I air that I was relishing, lost its charm and became
a dry arid tightening in my chest.   All had change in a flash and without
warning.    I almost dared not ask the next question that sped past my
mind.   So I held my breath in morbid anticipation of what was to come.
And then I saw what
Blue was leading me to.   Another rabbits hole on
the side of some hill.   He simply  pointed to that hole and off we went.
Not a word or a stall in our step.   This was the cavern I've been
avoiding in my thoughts, ever since he said those words,
"To the caverns my friend."   "To the caverns."

A blast of cool air hit us as we entered that hole.   And a swarm of bats
flew over our heads, for dusk and then night had filled the opening as we
passed through it.    Everything began to move at a quickened pace.
Like a film sped up a notch, with some variable speed dial.   I clenched
my friends hand as he led the way to this deeper hole.   First
dark, then
almost
black, to every side.   What was my poor heart and mind to do.
Flee from the hand that was my only hold on reality, to a madness that
surely would follow.    If I let him out of my grip even for a second, I'd be
lost.   Alone in this black hole of vague shapes.   In the dark, anything
can be conjured, especially from one with an imagination so vivid as my
own.    Large dragons, ready to spew flaming breath.    Spiders with
gore dripping from their mandrills, waiting to pounce the on next meal
lured into their web.    One eyed creatures of bad intent.   A cave person
with club in hand,
ogling over the next head he'll mount, as a trophy on his mantel.
Anything goes when it comes to a mind left to its own devices.
And just as I felt a scream coming a defence against this darkness, a
light became apparent, in some direction.    Then, I caught a hold onto
our next directions viewing.   It was like looking through the mouth of
some great toothed pumpkin.   Just as I envisioned it to be.   Shapes
jutting, up from the floor and down from the ceiling.   Here was the
cavern, my friend said we were going to next.
"Thank God we are
here!"   "I thought I would lose my sanity if we staid in that blackness,
only a second longer."
"And still you do not trust your friend Bluman, so
true."   "What will it take for your unconditional trust of me."
Bluman
gave in with a sigh and led me toward the light.   "Come my friend and
watch your footing.   For even above your head lies rock that's
inconsistent in its shape."
It was easy to trust these words he spoke,
with a slight echo from this cavern.    I marveled at the shimmering
colors and creative designs that nature played upon this space.
A black spider scurried across our path,
and another, and then a family of little ones.
Totally disinterested in us, even with all those eyes upon their heads.
As we stepped within the shapes and walked between the jutting
stalactites,
our cavern opened into another place.    What looked like some dark
catacomb below a monks dwelling.     I looked with interest and no with
fear into the room that stood before us.    It was brick lined room, with a
slight purplish glow that lit its brick, on every side.    Exit ways and brick
windows led to places I dared not question.     I knew full well that my
friend would soon show me the way.   No sooner did I think it, that my
friend was dashing into the room and hoping straight into some
entranceway, upon that brick wall.   He went head first, feet last and
disappeared from sight.   As quickly as he popped in, he popped his
head out of the opening.
And with a smile and a spark on his face, he said,
"Now its time to trust me friend."   " To lead you on your way."

"Watch the soles of my feet."
"In this tunnel so deep."
"They will lead you to places you'll love."
"If you trust your dear friend."
"Taking hands to the end."
"You may find it may lead to a door."
"To a sky, oh so blue."
"And a land, you once knew."
"Filled with joy and new friends in a town."
"So come here and take hand."
"From your friend, of this land."
"And take stock of the things that can be."
For dear
Bluman is true."
"To the core, through and through."
"He's the one, you should trust to the end."

"As I said before."   "
Bluman is your friend and I will never take you
astray."

And with that, I reached up to his held out hand and was pulled into what
looked like and never ending tunnel of bricks and more bricks.
From that point on, my main focus was on the soles of his
bluest blue
feet.
