King of the
Beasts
And Bluman said:
"You have done well in your
God eyes!"
"He has heard you
and bids you a better road
then you have seen!"
"Go and see
what you shall see!"
And he took my hand and
we walked in silence for a
while.
Then, as we walked, I
beheld
green appearing from
the far stretches of our left
and to our right.    Reaching
as far as the eye could see.
Green.   One of my favorite colors created.   I guess because it's one of
those natural colors.    I guess because in the Spring throughout the
Autumn months of the year, when you are outside, those colors can be
seen in almost every direction you look.    It brings me comfort and joy.
For once, in all these dreams gone past, my heart began to slow it pace.
My thoughts stopped from a  run, to a jog.   I was almost ready to say to
myself,
"At last, some sign of sanity and things I can hope on."   So I
pulled back on my friends warm hand and said to him,
"Tell me my friend.
Is this where we are bound?"   "It seems you are leading us straight into
that forest ahead."

And my
Bluman stopped right in his tracks, turned to me and said,
this time in a more husky voice for him,
"Come and see what you shall see."
"See the bricks that's laid by me."
"Walk upon these bricks so
bright."
"Matching colors
left and right."
"I have taken you to here."
"For the moment, fear no fear."
"Walk with me till we get there."
"Trust me friend, now you can stare."
"Into lightness and the day."
"I will take you on your way."
"To a place where we may rest."
"Until journey takes us west."
"West to places we must go."
"Through this forest and the snow."
"And when we come out of it."
"We will find a place to sit."
"We shall find the King of Beasts."
"Lord of West and Lord of Easts."
"Trust in me that this will be."
"Come and see what you shall see."
"Oh Bluman.   These poems of yours.  These poems."
"Can't you just talk regular, something or other?".
"I know your not a person, but why do have to go into these strange
states of mind?".   It's like you have all these different personalities living
in you."
"No, me Bluman!".   "Me try and stay just the way you want me to stay.".
"But I must show the way through the forest and the snow.".    "So we can
get to where the King of Beasts waits for us."
"OK Blue.".   "I'll bite one
more time.".   "And I won't even ask where this
King of the Beasts came
from or how he came to fit into our picture!".
And as my friend and I took our first steps into the forest the color of the
bricks below our feet turned into the greenest
leafy green I had ever seen
and more than my mind could imagine.   I didn't say a word, as the we
walked toward the destination, nearing us soon?   Within minutes, trees
surrounded us and it was only by the bricks below us, that made me feel
secure.   I let
Bluman lead our way and he walked with confidence and
almost with a lightness in his step.
The bricks of
green where turning a more amber color, as we walked
along our way and with them the shades of the leafed trees were calling
out
Autumn colors of  orange and golds.    And I noticed that there were
these same golden and brown leaves now swirling about the brick path.
The beautiful
blue sky turned shimmering shades of gray.    The leaves
were now being covered by what started to fall from the sky.   A most
beautiful
sight to behold.   It was snow!    The whitest snow I had ever
seen!
Bluman's feet were now picking up the snow, that was mounding
below us.   And then, I noticed another wondrous sight before my eyes.
My body was taking shape from the snowflakes that were falling all about
us.   I blurted out to my friend ahead, "
Bluman!"   "Bluman!"   "Turn
around, you must see!"   And without turning he said,
"Bluman already
knows."
In almost a flat voice, "Your body is taking shape from the snow."
"I have another friend, just as you, whose invisible and comes to shape
when the snow falls upon him too."   "But we must continue, if we are to
get to where we must go to right now."
And again I shut my mouth and let my friend lead us on these bricks now
golden.     We were exiting the dense forest which again seemed to form
a wall on the other side of the forest.    And as quickly as it ended, so did
the skies color and the snow and my shape?    For the snow had come
and gone, that I barely had time to notice the arrival of the cold and the
snow upon my shape.    The sky was a light with vibrancy and gave me
feelings of hope and delight.   As I turned my focus to where
Bluman was
taking me, I could see a world of golden clouds scattered about this road,
all leading us to what was coming ahead of us.    Here was a magic show.

Bluman let go and kept on walking.   Up to where a golden chair
appeared through those clouds.    Upon the chair sat a robe, also golden
and upon that a staff of black it shown a crown of gold, with
red velvet
peaking through.   And to top it off laid the Kings crown, so regal it could
only be that of the beasts King.   Here we had come to the end of our
road.    And to me the hope that this cold be the end of my dreams.   The
high point of it all.   "But where is this King?", my mind rung out.    And as
Bluman reached this thrown he turn to me and sung out, "I am Bluman!"
"
King of the Beasts!"   And the hands of all the creatures we had met
before came sliding from openings between the trees and they reached
with elongated arms to dress my friend in his robe and adorn him with his
crown of gold and
blue.   And as Bluman sat upon his thrown words began
to arc in the sky?    Now looking like some silly Broadway show, it read,
"KING OF THE BEASTS".
I had to control myself from laughing.
My pal, my buddy "
KING OF THE BEASTS?".     Ridiculous!
And as the creatures hands retracted back into the forest
Bluman stood,
almost annoyed in my lack of surprise, he said,
"I am the King of the
Beasts!
",
"Why else do you think these creatures were so friendly along our way!"
"Now let us be on our way before darkness falls upon us."
I walked behind him down the brick road and then moved beside him.
