the mad monster maker
What kind of articles will we have next month? Who'll be in our Artists Corner? What new comic will grace us and tickle your funny bone? Where will my story go? Will I have completed more of the Geometric busts or some other model, bust or diorama? Will I be showing another drawing from the book, I Me Sinner. Just to tease your brain. You'll just have to wait and see. I promise I won't let you down.
If you have any idea's, comic ideas for our Creature or other classic monsters, creatures or aliens, or news that you feel should or could be included in my News Letter, just email me today or before the 1st of next month. And why not sign into my guest book too. And ... If you think your work should be spot lighted in our Artists Corner you should email me and let me know.
Hope to see you then.
When it happens. If I can be there, I will.

Don't depend on anything ... Or you better be ready for the fall.

Without a doubt, that's our Homer. He's a deep pit of emotions and joy. I'm so grateful
for this wonderful character, I get to work with each month, cause I get to show a side of
me, others might not known that existed. This month being Valentines Day, I get to
show off his tender feelings inside and out. For Homer, everything is growing up hearts
and flowers. Heart shaped leaves and heart shaped flowers. And that's Cupids
arrows poking through those hearts, all around him. I just love doing these two News
Letters, one for us, and one for Store 1220, on Woodhaven Boulevard, here in New
York, for the Home Depot.
With all these ways of expression I have, I'm truly blessed to be doing a light hearted
cartoon in this mix. Let's see ... Next month, Spring is right around the corner and
there's St. Patrick's Day. Humm, I already had Homer in a kilt and blowin' his
bagpipes. I've already set in up in a field of 4 leaf cover, so ... Don't worry I'll think of
something for Homer.
Hope to see you next month, when I'll show you what he's up to.
Creech Cow Comics
Latest paint ups.
Gosh, there's so much I can say about this guy. What makes a person in life known as "One
cool dude." Maybe they drive a Harley or run with your favorite crowd. Maybe they look and
act like Clint Eastwood or macho like the Terminator robot. They might walk like a rock star or
ooze intelligence and wit like Robin Williams on steroids. In my book of values I have a
different slant than the average people out there. In my book, I look at people for the value of
their kindness, generosity, sensitivity to another's needs and being able to roll with the
punches as life tosses them to you. Over the years I've know Al, he's proven over and again,
that he's one of those unique people of a genuine nature. A soul that can be depended on,
when others fall to the wayside or never show up at all.
Al's always been on my side, whether I was happy or blue, when helping me with my personal
problems or with a modeling project. Giving out valued advice direct and to the point. And
those incredible deals on the models he sells, per the next model project I was dreaming
about. Countless times at the Club House Model Museum I heard others spout his praise and
rightfully so. They know his worth and after a peek at his web site, you will too.
I asked Al for a picture of himself and he sent one of him and his son. That says allot right
there. When I try and think about my art without a guy like Al intertwined emotionally in it, it
goes flat. He's one of those who loves to share, loves to watch the progression of a piece,
who'll give worth while advice, with sincerity and merit to all he says and suggests.
Al wrote: I've been collecting comics, toys and models, seems like forever. I'm 53 and have
a son almost 22 months, who I spend all of my spare time with. I took over Geo about 7 years
ago, and to me it is a hobby/business. It's great fun and I get to meet interesting people. I've
been selling comics as a hobby since 1985, my favorite production of comics are the DC
Comics. Do I have new models on the horizon for Geo Design? I will be going the way of old
sci-fi and horror, trying to think of models that most people haven't put out yet.
Thanks Al, for helping we artists along. I look forward to all our futures together.

God talk about disappointment.
I think most of you know, just by following the histrionics of this News Letter, how long I was planing on going to the
Haunters Convention. How excited I was over the preparation and finally having it come to light. I took this past week
off to complete the final details, which were many, of things to be done in setting up a table for display of my work. What
I should bring and should not bring to the show. What
kinds signs could I make to spruce up and attract
people to my table art work. I was intent on making
more than a go of it. I was ready to have a mental
success for myself. I knew I wasn't going to make a
killing monetarily, even I sold one piece, in my mind,
would be a plus. What I was striving to do was to make
contacts, to link up to some that would look at my work
and see me as a viable source of worth while art. So I
prepared myself, above you can see the 8 1/2" x 11"
print outs on orange stock, I was going to set up on the
front of the black paper table cloth. To the right you can
see some of the little price signs I made for each model
that up going to be up for grabs. On each end of the
table I also output more 8 1/2" x 11" signs to display on
black foam core board, see the prints below.
The She
Creature.
Another one of
those B-rated
wonders from the
50's. Egad, was
that flick a bone
head story or
what. lol
Certainly gets into
the worst category
of flicks ever, be
sure of that one.
But I love the
creature anyway.

And the fun keeps on coming. I think the best thing I like about doing comics like
this, is the fact of having the experience happen as the drawing goes on. I start
with a particular idea and then let it grow, as it will. The original idea was having
the Creature carrying the cow. But my problem came when it came time to draw,
that if I had the cow in the Creatures arms, it would cover almost the whole of the
Creature itself. So I started with a standard 8 1/2" x 11" page and found that cow
wasn't gonna fit no way into this size, so attached another page to the left. I knew I
was also taking off on the famous still shot of the Creature carrying the starlet in
the cave, so she because part of the picture. Then I came up with little critters here
and there, as I always like to do with a bit of dialogue for each. The moose came
into play simply because of one of the lines that I made for the creature. All of the
dialogue is done on the fly, it's totally my warped sense of humor. Like the talking
butt cheeks, I think that's South Park brand of humor, that or Python, my very
favorite in the world. I hope you all check of the complete Creature comic page,
you can click here to get there. I decided it was a good idea to compile then all
together and add to it each month. Just so you can enjoy the whole experience.

Haunter's Convention

Still in preparation for the trip I readied the car with new tires, and oil and filter change and general sprucing
up. But the day after we got the tires, while on my way to get more supplies for this trip, "Blame", one of the struts
broke, the spring along with it, jamming the point of a broken spring right into the brand new wheel and running a
gouge that would mean this brand new tire wasn't new at all, and would need replacing again, along with another
wheel alignment. Then I called my partner, who had committed to coming with me for total coverage at the table,
only to here that he had come down with a virus, was sick as Hell, and wouldn't be able to make it either.
"Arggggggggg." So ,,, with these thoughts in mind, my kitchen table still covered in models I was sprucing up,
with boxes that will never get packed, and dreams that will never be met, I say, "Go ahead. Kick my butt if you will
I won't back down and I won't quit. I'll get this skeleton diorama to Rob's Museum before it's opening, ASAP,
cause frankly it's now in the way of other wanting work. It's meant to be for some stupid reason, everything is.
So I won't get those planned on pictures. I won't meet those new folks, that might have added to my life and its
doings. My work wont' be viewed by this new crowd of people. My business cards won't be given out. I won't get
to show, through my eyes, all that I would have seen and experienced. And so it goes, and so it is. I'll never know
if it was meant to be, valuable or not.
I have found that in life, all misfortunes have their place in the grand scheme of things. Though I don't see it
now, I will some time from now sti back and reflect back on this disappointment of its meaning. Gee, yesterday
morn, I completed the Creech comic, never would have done, if I had gone. Today, I'm doing this and later to
complete maybe another model, that wouldn't have gotten done, so you see everything has its end ... Everything.
Maybe this means I'll get the incentive to truck it down to Wonderfest, in a few weeks ... Maybe. I can take
pictures there and bring those pictures to you. Meet up with some I know, in cyber space, but have not met in the
flesh. Al Matrone and Find Phil to name a few. Humm ... Maybe this was the opening I just needed to get my
wheels in motioned towards another goal ... Maybe. I can take pictures when I do get this model to Rob and
when it is shown in his Museum, I can go there and take pictures in that place and post them too.
Yes all remains to be seem, but I've no choice in this matter now. It's a done deal and done deals are to be
handled and benefited from because frankly ... What other choice do I have.
Until ...
Dracula - Christopher Lee
Now here was a creature straight from the
depths of Hell. This time have the actor
Christopher Lee portraying the creature.
It's horror at its best and through Mike
Hills brilliant sculpting we see a side of the
night beast paralleled by no equal. Of
course I add some of my own flavour to
the model, additional blood and gore. But
that's my artistic licence. Enjoy.
